Families, parents, and children take the time everyday to thank us for our services, whether it be for donations, assistance, or guidance. We take pride in the community that we help and the people we serve, as well as our dedicated corps of volunteers that help us out everyday. From fundraising stands to our awesome summer fun program, we here at Community Empowerment are committed to making a real difference in Northern Virginia.
Winter Wonderland Toy Store & Shoppe
Our Winter Wonderland Toy Store is an opportunity for local low-income families to select toys and other gifts to provide to their children. In 2015, CENV and its volunteers were able to distribute over 3,000 toys to local families.
Our Winter Wonderland Shoppe is a unique program that teaches children altruism and allows them to show their appreciation for their parents or caregivers. This program provides an opportunity for children to select a gift from the Shoppe to give to their parents.
Thanksgiving Baskets & Community Meal
In 2015 and 2016, Thanksgiving Baskets were provided to families in our community to ensure they have a meal to be thankful for, including non-perishable food items and a gift card. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and volunteers, we were able to expand our Thanksgiving offerings in 2016 to include a community meal at Countryside Elementary School.
